Career Highlights
 
   
Implemented V.I.N.E. (Victim Information and Notification Everyday), Illinois’ first automated system to notify crime victims of their offender’s release from jail.  Initiated statewide push for legislation requiring victim notification in all of Illinois' correctional institutions, which became a reality in January 2002.
   
Created the DuPage County Sheriff’s Young Adult Work Camp, a one-of-a-kind alternative sentencing program designed to help young offenders gain life and job skills through manual labor, education, counseling and aftercare.
   
Offered Guardian to DuPage County senior citizens and disabled individuals who live alone, a system that call registered persons to check on their well-being.
   
Organized SR-22 the first countywide tactical gang suppression unit, and A-TAC, a multi-jurisdictional gang task force - both dedicated to eradicating gang violence from DuPage County.
   
Organized Cyber Crime Unit, an investigative team assigned to tracking down criminal activity on the Internet.
   
Designed the First Step program that allows parents to have a substance analyzed to determine whether it is an illegal drug – anonymously and without the threat of police involvement.
   
Developed “Operation Good Bear,” in which deputies give teddy bears to children traumatized by crime.
   
Founded annual "Safety Saturday" fair, an event for families that brings together police, fire and emergency agencies from across the county to promote safety and positive interaction with the public.
   
Developed Illinois' first state certified Court Security Officers' Training Course.
